The former flag of Pocatello, Idaho, unofficially used from 2001 to 2017, featured a white background with two blurred purple triangles representing nearby mountains. The larger triangle partially overlapped the smaller one, each bearing five triangular notches on the right side. Below the triangles, the slogan “Proud to Be Pocatello” was displayed in two lines: “Proud to Be” in yellow sans-serif font with black edges and shadow, and “Pocatello” in red serif font with white inner edges and black outer edges with shadow. Five thin horizontal lines flanked the text, accompanied by a trademark symbol on the right. A copyright notice from the Greater Pocatello Chamber of Commerce appeared at the bottom.
