The California Pride flag (often referred to as the California LGBTQ+ Republic flag) is a contemporary vexillological adaptation that merges the traditional iconography of the California State flag with the global symbol of the LGBTQ+ community, the Gilbert Baker rainbow pride flag. The design retains the central layout of the original 1911 state flag, featuring a prominent California grizzly bear walking on a patch of green grass, anchored by the bold, sans-serif text “CALIFORNIA REPUBLIC” across the lower third. However, the standard solid white field and botto
